Galleries and trading posts – 110 trading posts, shops and galleries offer authentic Native American and Southwest Hispanic arts and crafts. Just 50 miles northwest of Gallup, the Hubbell Trading Post is one of the oldest trading posts on the Navajo Nation.
Chaco Culture National Historical Park – A designated World Heritage Site, the park features thirteen major Chacoan sites dating back over one thousand years. Pueblo Bonito once towered four stories tall and included more than 600 rooms. Along with a museum, visitor center and major sites, there are multiple backcountry hiking trails.
Red Rock Park – To the east of Gallup, the red sandstone cliffs of Red Rock Park create an amazing landscape. The park covers 640 acres, has an elevation of 7,000 feet and features Anasazi archaeological sites from 300 A.D. View pottery and silver and learn about Anasazi heritage at the Red Rock Museum.
Zuni Pueblo – Built on the ruins of one of the fabled “Seven Cities of Gold,” Zuni is the largest inhabited pueblo in the country. Approximately 10,000 residents work the fields, herd cattle and sheep and create gorgeous Zuni silver work inlaid with coral, shell and turquoise.
